In Loving Memory of Felix Caceres

It is with deep sympathy and a heavy heart, that we announce the passing of our Student Felix Caceres.
As most of you all knew him personally, he had a big heart, a big soul, and even more, an even bigger personality.
LACPA Family will be hosting a Candle Light Vigil in memory of his life. Happening Friday, May 28th at 7pm. Here on Campus.

Hearts Over Hate

The Heart over Hate campaign was created by the Secular Humanists Volunteer Network of Los Angeles. They hold the belief that love triumphs over hate. Their aim is to give the unsheltered population hope by installing a display of over 100 handmade hearts at the North Figueroa tent encampment and donating hygiene kits.

*This event will be filmed. We advise all to wear a LACPA shirt or a yellow shirt to represent LACPA.

A Celebration of Filipino Liberation

On April 27, 1521 King Lapu-Lapu of the Philippines successfully defended the islands from Spanish colonial powers at that time. It is a moment in history that illustates the power of solidarity, and community in order to maintain independence from colonial powers. On April 24, 2021 Los Angeles College Prep Academy will celebrate the 500 year anniverary of King Lapu-Lapu's successful defense of the Philippines from Spain. It is especially important to have celebratory moments that honor the Asian-Pacific Islander community who have recently been subjected to violent hate crimes. Please join us in this outdoor socially distanced event to celebrate the life of King Lapu-Lapu and his legacy of self-determination for the Filipino community.
