LACPA Leadership's Message
The following are our school-wide pillars, PARC, that are the driving force behind all that we do and what we continue to strive for:
Los Angeles College Prep Academy serves students in grades 9-12 supporting youth from Highland Park, North East Los Angeles, and South Los Angeles. It is a small comprehensive school that sees value in small size classes to nurture creativity, community, and relationships. LACPA continues to prove that working collaboratively and in community with a focus on student well-being, learning, and the student as a whole human, is what is successfully meeting our mission of preparing students for higher education, whether that is college or a career, and next steps after high school.

- Purpose - We embrace reflection, we learn from our experiences and we seek lives of meaning and purpose that serve the greater good.
- Agency - We speak with courage, we take action in the pursuit of our success and we take responsibility for our role in the broader community.
- Relationships - We are empathetic, we listen to one another and we honor one another’s lived experiences.
- Radical Love - We show up for one another even when it is uncomfortable and we uplift humanizing practices that are kind, generous, and loving.
- Community - We care for one another, we celebrate one another and we hold each other accountable with compassion and understanding.
Thanks to keeping our pillars in mind we have been able to bring new opportunities for our students such as community wellness classes and college courses for enrichment and graduation purposes. This school year, 2022-2023, LACPA switched to a 4x4 block schedule model that follows the semester or quarter schedule systems of many colleges to encourage students to also incorporate college courses through dual enrollment in partnership with Los Angeles City College which allows our students to get high school and college credit. LACPA continues to seek growing, intentional, and mindful opportunities to keep feeding into the interests of our families, students, and community. As a community that seeks growth and well-being of our students, we are committed to continued improvement and service to all students who attend LACPA.
